Privacy Policy
Last updated 27 August 2026 · Governed by Canadian federal privacy law (PIPEDA)
The short version. We collect what you tell us in the application, plus basic usage data. We use it to decide whether to offer you a seat and to place you in the right rooms. We do not sell it. You can ask to see it, correct it or have it deleted at any time, and we will act on that.

1. Who we are
The Founders Floor is a private online membership club for founders and business owners, operated by 1001060863 Ontario Corp. (“we”, “us”), a company registered in Ontario, Canada. Our mailing address is 2025 Maria Street, Burlington, Ontario L7R 0E9, Canada.
This policy explains how we handle personal information under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), and applicable provincial privacy legislation.
2. What we collect
We collect the following, and we would rather name it plainly than hide it behind “business information”:
| Category | Specifically |
|---|---|
| Identity and contact | Your name, email address, phone number, and the city and country you are based in. |
| Company details | Company name, industry, and a description of what you sell and who buys it. |
| Financial information about your business | Your annual revenue band, your headcount, whether you are the person who signs off on spend, and the direction your revenue is heading. We ask for bands, not exact figures. |
| What you are struggling with | The specific areas you tell us you are stuck on (for example sales, hiring, cash flow, delegation), and what you write in your own words about what you want from the club. |
| Who you want to meet | Your description of the people you want introduced to, and anyone you ask not to be placed with. |
| Willingness to pay | Your answer to whether you are ready to take a paid seat if accepted. |
| Consent choices | Whether you agreed to our terms, and separately whether you opted in to hearing from KeyPlayers. |
| Membership and billing | If you join: your membership status, renewal dates, and payment records. Card details are handled by our payment processor and never reach our systems. |
| Activity in the club | Which rooms you enter, events you attend, and material you contribute to the shared library. |
| Technical data | IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and referring links. See our Cookie Notice. |
We do not ask for and do not want sensitive personal information such as health data, government identifiers, or financial account numbers. Please do not send them to us.
3. Why we collect it
- To assess your application. Revenue, headcount and decision-making authority are how we judge whether the club will actually be useful to you, and whether you will be useful to the room.
- To place you. What you are stuck on and who you want to meet is what determines which rooms open for you and who you are introduced to. This is the core of the service.
- To keep the room balanced. Industry and company details let us avoid filling one room with direct competitors.
- To run the membership. Billing, renewals, access, and support.
- To communicate with you about your application, your membership, and what is happening in the club.
- To improve the service and keep it secure.
If you opt in to hearing from KeyPlayers
The Floor is run by KeyPlayers, who also sell staffing and operations services. The application asks, separately and unticked by default, whether they may contact you about that. If and only if you tick that box, we also use your answers about revenue, headcount and where you are stuck to judge whether their services are likely to be relevant to you, and we store that assessment against your record.
If you leave the box unticked we do not make that assessment at all. Either way it has no effect whatsoever on whether you are offered a seat, it is never shown to you or to any member, and you can withdraw the consent at any time by emailing us, which deletes the assessment.
4. Consent
By submitting an application you consent to us collecting and using the information above for the purposes listed. We ask for consent again, separately, before sending you marketing email, in line with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Every commercial email we send identifies us and carries a working unsubscribe link.
You can withdraw consent at any time. See Your rights.
5. Who else touches it
We use a small number of service providers. Each one only receives what it needs to do its job.
| Provider | What it does | What it sees |
|---|---|---|
| Roam | Hosts the virtual office the club runs inside | Your name, email, and activity in the rooms |
| Stripe | Processes payments | Your name, email, billing details and payment card data, which it holds, not us |
| Supabase | Database and application storage | Your application and membership record |
| GoHighLevel | Customer relationship management and email | Your contact details and application answers |
| Analytics provider | Measures how the website is used | Technical and usage data only, and only if you accept analytics cookies |
| Video host | Serves any video on the site | Technical data needed to deliver the video |
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not rent or trade it. We do not share your application answers with other members. What you tell us about your revenue or what you are stuck on is not visible to the room.
6. Data outside Canada
Some of the providers above are based in the United States, including Stripe and GoHighLevel. That means your personal information is stored on or accessible from servers outside Canada.
While it is outside Canada it is subject to the laws of that country, and may be accessible to foreign courts, law enforcement and national security authorities under those laws. We use providers that commit to appropriate contractual safeguards, but we want you to know this before you apply rather than after.
7. How long we keep it
| If you | We keep your information for |
|---|---|
| Apply and are declined | 24 months from the decision, then it is deleted. We keep it that long so that if you reapply we can see the history and give you a better answer. |
| Apply and withdraw before a decision | Deleted within 30 days of your request |
| Become a member | For the life of your membership, and 24 months after it ends |
| Are billed | Financial records are kept for 7 years, as Canadian tax law requires |
8. Your rights
Under PIPEDA you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you, and be told how it has been used and who it has been shared with.
- Correct anything that is wrong or out of date.
- Delete your information, subject to records we are legally required to keep.
- Withdraw consent at any time, including consent to marketing. Withdrawing consent to the core processing means we cannot continue your membership.
- Complain to us, and if we do not resolve it, to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
To exercise any of these, email privacy@thefoundersfloor.com. We respond within 30 days, as PIPEDA requires. We will ask you to confirm your identity first so we do not hand your data to somebody else.
9. Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Access to application answers is limited to the people who assess applications and run placement. Payment card data never touches our systems. No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell you promptly if a breach creates a real risk of significant harm to you, as the law requires.
10. Privacy Officer
PIPEDA requires a named individual to be accountable for our compliance. That person is:
Mitchell Conquer, Privacy Officer
privacy@thefoundersfloor.com
2025 Maria Street, Burlington, Ontario L7R 0E9, Canada
11. Changes
If we change this policy in a way that materially affects how we use your information, we will email members and update the date at the top. Continuing to use the club after that means you accept the change.
